Possible Issues With Group Sessions

Category: Session A/V

While Blink Session Music infrastructure can manage a large number of session participants, quality will be limited by everyone's bandwidth, device, and CPU limitations.

In a group session, each participant "publishes" their own video and audio to the platform and "subscribes" to video and audio from other participants. Because each participant needs to download every other participant's audio and video, the quality will be limited by their bandwidth, device, and CPU.

Participants in a group session need a good enough connection to download all audio and video streams, and a device with a processor capable of decoding and displaying each video. A participant can theoretically have no issues with a one-on-one session but not be able to handle a group session, depending on these limitations.

If you experience issues in a group session, have participants who are not talking toggle off their video. This will greatly reduce the bandwidth and device power required.
